259/365 – Catalonia – D.O. Cava – Olerdola – Grimau – Grimau Reserva Familiar Brut Nature
Grimau Reserva Familiar Brut Nature, Chardonnay, Macabeo, Parellada and Xarello
Clean, bright yellow with golden tones, plenty of steady bubbles appearing as a rosary. Persistent crown. Good intensity nose, with some predominance of creamy notes and clear input from the fine lees ageing. Fruit notes, with touches of citrus, bitter orange rind, nuts, all forming a complex and aromatic whole. Good entry, creamy, good intensity, dry, delicate but tasty with personality, ripe with good acidity, slightly bitter touch that gives depth and increases its persistence. In summary, a Cava well worth trying, not once but several times. It is very pleasant, with personality and palatability, but delicate and elegant; a very careful production where the winery has managed to capture the spirit of the sparkling wines of Penedes. It is a wine that has been spoiled (in the best sense) in the cellar, using the best must and providing ageing during more than 3 years to give it character, personality, softness and delicacy. Only 5,000 bottles are produced of this wine, which suggests exclusivity.
